This is going to be another great season of gorgeous clothing. Some of our favorite designers we will be featuring this Spring are Mim Pi, Haven Girl, Kate Mack, Isobella & Chloe, Ragdolls&Rockets, Flit & Flitter, Wati, Haute Baby & Giggle Moon.

What’s Going On In Downtown Troy? Wait, Where Is Downtown Troy?
October 29th, 2010We have been a part of Downtown Troy Ohio since October 2005. This is where we are everyday, our home away from home, we are familiar with our neighbors, we know all the great spots for lunch, and everywhere in between the streets of Main and Market. We love our area, and are thankful for all of the great people and businesses down here, there is just one small problem…… so many people that live in Troy have no clue what is downtown!! People would be amazed at how many customers walk through our door, with a look of shock and awww on their faces and say ” Wow, did you guys just open? How long have you been here?” We tell them we have been here for 5 years and they just simply cannot believe it, many of these people say they only live blocks away, or say they drive by everyday and just never noticed, others say they never come downtown, they shop and eat on the other side of highway where all the big box stores and chain restaurants are. It makes us sad, maybe a little mad, jealous just a bit, and sometimes angry that Walmart rules the world.
What we would love to share with everyone is just how great this charming downtown Troy area is. From restaurants to shopping and salons, downtown is full of great places. La Piazza, The Caroline, La Fiesta, & Night Sky are some of our favorite places to have a nice dinner. For a really tasty (and quick) lunch we love to go to Bakehouse, Tokyo Peeking, Kay’s Hamburgers, The Iliad Cafe, and The Submarine Shop. It sure beats Mc D’s drive through, and they all have lunches for about the same price as an extra value meal. One of our guilty pleasures are Vanilla Latte’s from Toni’s Cuppa Joe, and an occasional chocolate treat from Anjanette’s Chocolates, so delicious – it’s sinful!
All in a day in downtown we can get our hair done (Mirage, Studio 109, Special Effects, Salon Inspired) stop by for an eyebrow wax and facial at Signature Day Spa, have a bite to eat for lunch, grab a great coffee for an afternoon pick me up, do some shopping, meet the family for dinner, and cap the night off with a drinks and live music at Leaf & Vine. Now that sounds like a great way to spend my Saturday! Downtown Troy also has a ton of events going on all the time. Here in a few weeks is the Holiday Open House Weekend. November 12,13, & 14th downtown businesses will be having a huge event that will involve shopping (super sales), eating (free food!) and giving back (bringing in canned goods and school supplies gets you something special at every store) and wait… it gets better…. all of the businesses have pitched in and put together a gift basket that someone will win that is filled with prizes ($1,000 approximate value!) Now when was the last time those big box stores all got together to create an event that gives back to the community and made a fab gift basket??? ummmmm- never!!
So I guess what I am trying to say is- COME TO DOWNTOWN TROY PEOPLE! If you don’t know what is down here, or haven’t been downtown in a while, stop by! Have some lunch or dinner, grab a coffee, do some holiday shopping, and support your local Mom & Pop shops. If you a frequent downtowner than we THANK YOU! We love our customers so much, it’s because of you that we are still here!!! The Perfect School Picture
September 16th, 2010It’s that time of year again, schools are sending home the order forms for school pictures. Although these pictures are way over priced, we all know that it’s something we just have to do. We lay their clothes out the night before, wake up extra early the morning of, force our kids to sit still as we style their hair, use a half of can of hairspray, have them practice their smile, and then just hope and pray they still look as cute when the photographer snaps their picture as what they did when they left the house.
Finding the perfect look for school pictures can be tricky. The picture is only going to show the top portion of their shirt, so it can be challenging to find something that has that “something special” on their top. Here are a few suggestions!
- Focus of the hair accessories. Wear a bright sparkling clip, or a big beautiful hair flower. Pigtails with 2 matching bows are also super cute! Make the focus on their darling hair accessory and keep their shirt a solid color or simple print.
- Wear a fabulous statement necklace, and add some cute matching earring (if they have pierced ears) Bib necklaces are very popular this season, and so are ribbon and pearl necklaces.
- Scarves. Add a colorful scarf, trendy scarves are not just for adults. The look cute on kids too and many stores are selling them in cool tye dye prints and funky animal prints.
- Wear a shirt with extra pizzazz at the neckline! This one is a great example of what I am talking about!

The Kardashian’s Favorite Tee

Who doesn’t love Kim, Koutney, and Khloe Kardashian? These girls are trend-setting, hard working, and totally fabulous. They also own their own boutique “Dash” in California and Miami (which we have visited), as well as have a hit reality TV show on E! While visiting their boutique in Calabasas California we noticed a large selection of LNA clothing, especially the LNA V- neck tee’s. We learned that Kim, Kourt, and Khloe love LNA and practically live in it. This was a line we knew we had to bring in here at Pinky Scout as we grow our Women’s Department. Yesterday we got in our first shipment of LNA tee’s and as we always do when a new box of goodies arrived we all start grabbing our size and run straight for the fitting room. These V-neck tee’s may look like just an ordinary tee but try one on and you will be surprised. The material is luxurious, they are figure flattering, longer in length and the deep V gives you that little extra “vavavoom” that will make you feel like you are not just wearing an ordinary t-shirt. Dress it up or wear with a pair of jeans and a great necklace, how ever you wear a LNA tee, you are sure to look and feel fabulous. Oh- and the Kardashians are not the only celebrities that are in love with LNA- Kate Moss, Jessica Alba, Anne Hathaway, Megan Fox, Kristen Stewert, Beyonce, Christina Agulara, Madonna, Jennifer Aniston among many other hot celebrities are huge LNA fans too!

Pinky Scout’s Newest Models… Meet Kennedy and Chloe!!!
July 28th, 2010We have had so much fun taking some great photos of 2 of the sweetest little girls in town. They looked darling in some of our new fall fashions.
Kennedy is 7 and a half years old, she is going to be in the 2nd grade this year and plays soccer & gymnastics. She loves to watch iCarly, go swimming, and she LOVES coming to Pinky Scout to try on dresses! What a doll! Kennedy is modeling Haven Girl.
Here is little Chloe- she loved getting her picture taken and was such a little ham! She is 16 months old, look at those gorgeous big blue eyes. Chloe is modeling Giggle Moon here.
